Youxi Movie Hotel (有戏电影酒店), which runs hotels with the additional movie-watching service, raised 175 million yuan from AlphaX Partners （沸点资本）and Duocaitou.com(多彩投平台), an online crowdfunding platform for real estate investment, on August 19.
The start-up also tries to combine hotel business with movie derivatives, social media interactions, and events organisation, such as meeting movie stars. It said the large-screen TV and themed hotel rooms form a big draw to younger guests. Among movie hotels in operation, guest spends usually 4 hours a night to watch movies and the repeat purchase rate reaches 70 percent.
For the investment to transform a hotel, the principal amount will be returned within 8-30 months, according to the company, part of the Hubei Youxi Hotel Management.
