Chinese mobile security software maker Qihoo 360 Technology received 1,371 reports of mobile phone frauds in the first half of 2021, and 669 cases involved a loss of 14.252 million yuan.
Qihoo 360 app allows users to make the reporting and promises coverage of up to 100,000 yuan for any loss incurred due to SMS frauds, phishing or phone virus, part of cooperation with Taikang Life Insurance.
Most of frauds happened in the form of making friends (25.3%) , offering part-time jobs (21.8%) and helping wealth management (15.8%), according to the report (in Chinese ,https://pop.shouji.360.cn/safe_report/Mobile-Security-Report-202106.pdf)
Over 63% of the frauds targeted at men, who lost about 15, 466 yuan on average.
